I'm very excited about my new book "Going Nowhere". It is still a work in progress but hopefully it will be available 2009
Going Nowhere

Much of my story is typical. My mother got breast cancer and was treated with chemotherapy and radiation until her nails turned black and fell out. She was prepared for losing her hair. And yet, her cancer survived. I want to be clear that my purpose is not to bash conventional or any alternative medicine that claim to help cancer patients. I have met people who have cured their cancer using methods from shark oil to chemotherapy. The first rule of cancer is what works for one person may not work for another. I think most people know someone who has cured their cancer. I also bet they know more who died from it. But what if there was something out there universally beating cancer? And what if it has been out there since 1967?

It is important to me that I share the story exactly like it happened because my mother had a powerful personal message of her own that she wanted to share and it is just as important as the medical discoveries we disproved and proved during her battle with cancer. Her parting gift was not only hope for all cancer sufferers, but hope too for people who are dying and will die one day. Mom died right. No medicine, not even LDN, will keep anybody alive forever, so when my time comes to pass, I am grateful that my mother taught me how to die right. There is no finer lesson in life.

Despite conventional therapy, my mother's cancer spread from her breast, to her bones, to her brain, until finally, I asked her oncologist if the chemo and radiation he continued to offer would grant my mother one more day with us. When he answered "No", I knew that it was time to scour the internet to find out what other people were doing to fight cancer. I tried absolutely everything to save Mom. And then, by chance, I stumbled upon Dr. Kamil Jurkovic's case studies on cancer from Slovakia. I wont lie. I wish I stumbled on his work sooner. Thanks to Mom, however, other people found Dr. Jurkovic's theory on time and many more will too, and live happily ever after, without cancer. I can tell you honestly, I never thought I would find a story bigger than LDN, but as you will read, I did.

My story is not fiction. I debated publishing it as fiction for an easy life, but I kept coming across various bookmarks and leaflets with the words "the truth will set you free" and decided to stick with the truth. It is not easy to tell a true story because it involves real people, with real lives, many of whom are much bigger than me and might beat me up. I will take that risk for this story, but there is one risk I cannot take.

I need to protect the prescribing doctor in this story because I am afraid if I shared his true identity I would arm various medical boards with enough ammunition to take away his medical license. I must stress that the doctor did nothing wrong or illegal. Far from it. In fact, he strictly adhered to the first guiding principal of medicine, "First do no harm". The medical establishment is set up in such a way, however, that many doctors can and do get into a great deal of trouble for treating cancer or autoimmune patients because they are not oncologists or neurologists. Especially if they cure their patients. So, for the pure purpose of protecting a wonderful, kind and caring, man and friend, I shall use a fictional name, Dr. Gold, when referring to the prescribing doctor.

After my years of experience in trying to spread the word about LDN to all MS and autoimmune suffers, I know how difficult it is for the truth to be heard. I know that the monopoly of corporate drug companies coupled with the number of quacks on the internet, do nothing to help. Monster drug companies are excellent at protecting us from quackery, but they are also expert at protecting themselves from better alternatives that threaten to eat into their profit margins. Nobody should ever profit from sick people. I don't want to join the ranks of conspiracy theorists, or debate how best we should solve problems in our medical system. For now, things just are. The balance is all wrong though. Thanks to the LDN campaign, I also know that the chances of finding anyone willing to channel money into researching the potential (even if it is astounding) of an existing generic drug are pretty slim because the monetary incentive is just not there. In a nutshell, campaigning for LDN has taught me that I have little hope of my story being heard. Let's face it, cancer is a bigger business than MS. Life, however, has taught me that all I ever need is hope. And a little hope is good enough reason for me to tell my story because it has the potential to improve and save millions of lives. Maybe yours. Hope will get this story out there because today more than ever, people with cancer need hope.

I believe that Dr. Jurkovic has been successfully treating cancer since 1967 by blocking tumor metabolism while simultaneously boosting the immune system. Treating tumors by blocking tumor metabolism is not new. Dr. Judah Folkman, who died from a heart attack in January 2008, was a Harvard professor and world famous cancer researcher whose insights led to whole new field of medicine, Angiogenesis. He believed that tumors could be starved and maintained in a dormant state by cutting off the nutrient filled blood supply they need to grow. Initially, his ideas were scorned and ridiculed. Until 1998, when he cured cancer in mice and made the front page of the New York Times which wrote that Dr. Folkman would cure cancer in two years. Then he became a hero. Basically, Dr. Folkman blocked tumor metabolism in mice by restricting nutrients via the the blood supply to the tumor. Dr. Jurkovic however blocked tumor metabolism (by restricting oxygen and nutrients) by suppressing the thyroid, and he was successfully doing this since the 1960's with mind blowing success, in humans, not mice. Dr. Jurkovic's knowledge and success with curing cancer in Slovakia (by blocking tumor metabolism) was and is far more advanced than Dr. Folkman's. Let me share the gist of his theory:

A malignant tumor requires more oxygen and nutrients than our organs. In order to meet these enormous needs, the tumor stimulates the thyroid gland to give it what it needs. Dr. Jurkovic believes he can paralyze the oncological process by suppressing thyroid function using a thyreostatic drug, carbimazole. In a nutshell, he paralyzes cancer by cutting off the nutrient supply it needs to thrive. He blocks tumor metabolism. He pulls the plug on the source. Simple.

Since my mother passed, two friends with advanced cancer are certainly benefiting from what we learned. Please God, they will continue to do so for many, many years to come. To understand more please visit http://www.jurkovic.sk/files/jurkovic-bmn-av.pdf
