LDN A Treatment For MS and Many Autoimmune
Disorders
My book
"Up The Creek With a Paddle", subtitle, Beat
MS (Multiple Sclerosis) and Many Autoimmune Disorders with Low Dose Naltrexone (LDN)
was published in May 2005.
It is
a story I passionately feel must reach everyone, everywhere, who
knows somebody with an automimmune disorder. My name is Mary
Bradley. I am married to Noel and we have three daughters. Noel has
Primary Progressive Multiple Sclerosis. He started taking Low Dose Naltrexone (LDN) in September 2002 and has not progressed since. The
drug is cheap with no known side effects but that is just the start
of the story. It is impossible to research MS on the internet now
without coming across LDN. Although FDA approved at 10 times the
dose for drug addicts, the drug is not medically recognized for
treating MS. A successful pilot study for LDN and Crohns disease has
since been published.
The results witnessed across the world for LDN as a
successful treatment for MS are astounding. Therefore, there exists a
passionate campaign to get the drug medically recognized via a large
scale clinical trial. My story is helping achieve that goal. It is personal. It is an easy but
informative read with humor to balance the pain. I am
certain that this is the first book of many on this topic.
"Up the
Creek with a Paddle" humanizes a simple drug with the potential to
improve the lives of millions. Although entertaining, it is
enlightening and educational.
Book proceeds have so far been reinvested to keep the
LDN story spreading. Click here

I bought this book and immediately started reading chapter after
chapter. I found it very "un-put-down-able" (to use Robert Carlyle's
character's non-word when referencing another MS-related book in the
excellent 'Go Now'). I mean, I've got MS myself, I'd intended to
read the first chapter and go to sleep, I had to get up early the
next day for work ... and I still found myself reading up until 3
o'clock in the morning.
Everyone with MS (or affected by MS, as Mary Boyle Bradley is)
has their own story to tell. Mary's one, as covered in the book,
runs from roughly 1990 to the present day. Its only in the last few
years that her husband, Noel, has started taking the new drug, LDN.
But the story up until he did is fascinating for all its plot
changes, decisions, dilemmas and, above all, humanity.
Reading Mary's book is like having a cup of coffee in a
good friend's kitchen. You can't put it down. I've
always been optimistic that we are very close to solving
autoimmune diseases- so much so, that one of my
specialists feels that I may be in denial, and keeps
reminding me there IS NO CURE! But, like Mary, I am
cautiously optimistic, and refuse to just lie down and
let this disease envelope me. LDN offers hope for those
of us who are looking for a tool to help us fight our
diseases, and take back our quality of life.
Some would call Mary persistent. I would call her
relentless. She does not jack-hammer her way through
solid rock, but because she perseveres for all those she
loves, she is most assuredly beating a path through that
solid rock! When that final barrier comes down, we who
suffer, and wish, and wait, will finally enjoy the
rewards she is earning for us. That day is close.
Thank you, Mary. You don't even know me, and many
thousands of others like me world wide, yet you are
looking out for us because we are somebody's Noel,
somebody's child, somebody's sister/brother, somebody's
mother/father. God indeed works through you. Bless you
and yours. Love, Mia DV- Scranton PA. JohnnieBravosMom@adelphia.net
Inspiring, engaging, and timely story of overcoming
auto-immune illness, December 5, 2005
Mary Bradley tells her engaging story of discovering the
drug low dose naltrexone (LDN). LDN can arrest the
progression of autoimmune diseases and unlike other
pharmaceutical options, is inexpensive, orally
administered and almost free of adverse side-effects.
Reading of the impact that this drug had on Mary's
family, I understand her profound motivation to 'spread
the word'. Besides being well written and enjoyable,
this book lit a fire in me and I have shared the book
with many family and friends.
As a person diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, it is
refreshing and inspiring to read about treatments that
work. After 6 months using the drug, LDN, I agree with
Mary that this is a drug with wonderful potential and
which all people who deal with auto-immune related
illnesses should know about and consider using. Thank
you Mary
EVERYONE NEEDS TO READ THIS BOOK!!!, August 10,
2005
I wish I could've given this book more than 5 stars! It
is a must have with anyone who knows someone with an
autoimmune disease or who has MS. I am so grateful that
Mrs. Bradley has worked so hard to get the word out
about LDN, it is the best available treatment for MS.
Don't hesitate to purchase this book, it is worth every
penny!
FANTASTIC Read With Great Hope for Autoimmune
Illnesses, June 19, 2005
I would recommend that everyone with an auto immune
disorder read this book. It is a story that I can affirm
because I have met Mary Bradley and her husband Noel. I
am living that story today and even though many people
don't like to use the word miracle, LDN is surely a
modern day miracle. This book is written in the manner
of a true Irish story teller. Mary has that true Irish
charm to her and this books reflects her manner of
conversation. The story is told in the most charming
way. I really hope that she succeeds in getting Oprah's
attention because LDN is what could surely change the
world if only it gets the recognition it deserves. I
think this book is one step towards that goal. Thanks
Mary and blessings to you and Noel. JoyceF
First Book about Low Dose Naltrexone, June 4,
2005
I appeciate the fact that Mary Boyle Bradley took
the time to write this book about a treatment for
MS and other autoimmune disorders. This treatment
is largely heard about over the internet and is only
FDA approved at higher doses, 50 mag., for opiate
addicts.
Dr. Bihari discovered that at lower doses it can be used
to treat MS, Parkinson's, Crohn's, and other disorders.
The reason why the USA has not pursued this treatment is
it is not a profitable one. Mrs. Bradley's husband was
rapidly progressing with his MS and switched from Avonex
to LDN, and has done much better with LDN.
I encourage you to read this and you will get an
understanding of how backward the medical community and
NMSS really are. Mary is trying to get a large scale
trial for LDN and MS in Ireland, as well as, LDN and
AIDS in South Africa. Here, she would like the help of
Oprah Winfrey, because LDN could save millions of lives
very cheaply. Thank you Mary for all your efforts! And
thank you Dr. Bihari, the man who who gave us LDN!
My experience has been that the accepted medications for
multiple sclerosis do not work. I've used Avonex,
Copaxone, Novantrone and they're worthless. Low dose
naltrexone is inexpensive and without serious adverse
side-effects. You owe it to yourself to give this a try.
Mary's book is written in a down-to-earth manner which
you can finish in a few hours. She comes across as a
wonderful lady.
This book has brought so much light to my life. The
idea, the hope, the honesty means more than words can
say. For Mary Bradley to open her heart like this is
unbelievable. As someone with MS, I hope that many
people can get the hope and encouragement they need from
this book to realize the opportunities out there for
them....

I highly
recommend this book to anybody suffering from MS
and/or anybody remotely associated with anybody
who has MS. I'm going to be ordering more copies
for a few choice Dr's/Neurologists I've dealt
with over the past few years. I'm patiently
waiting for my first shipment of LND. Thank you
Mary for telling your story and for having the
strength to help others. You are truly an angel.
Such Hope Beverly

I've had
R/R MS for the past 25 years. This book offered
such hope, that I didn't want the book to end.
What an eye opener! What a story! God bless Mary
for that fighting spirit, along with a big
heart.

I have
progressive MS. I started LDN on 7/13/05 and
feel such hope to stablize. I was an RN who
worked nights for many yrs. No mention was made
of that as a cause of low endorphines but wonder
at a likely connection(also sole support of 3
children and divorced alcoholic husband). I am
also in NJ of Irish roots so I could really
identify with her style.

Boyle Bradley really hits home with this one.
Someone must take action to make a clinical
trial become real. If it is all she says it is,
what a Godsend....

Reviewer: A reader
I am a practicing GP and have found this book very well written and
informative. I have since prescribed LDN for 2 of may patients with
early onset of Rheumatoid Arthritis with immediate relief of
symptoms of joint stiffness, pain and tiredness. Clinically it works
and it has very few side effects....encourage your GP to give it a
try and you will be amazed!
Well done in writing this brave and inspiring account of how to beat
Ms and many other Autoimmune diseases.
